It’s been rough, and it’s only going to get rougher, but… Starting Tuesday May 19th we will be reopening our doors to the public at our Main Street Gym (Port Moody Studio, June 1st), however things will be a little different. Most importantly we need all of our visitors and members to do their best to try to sign-up online before coming to the gym. We will have strict caps on Open Practices & Classes to encourage and accommodate physical distancing in the space. Scroll down to see more of the changes to expect at Origins.
People who own gyms and fitness centres can start their process — and they should be doing that already to meet the requirements — and those who can, can look at starting to open starting after the coming long weekend

Alright, before we get into all the nitty gritty, check out this bangin video our Team made with a session on our new gym features. We spent the first month of our closure redesigning many aspects of the space. We did it all with 99% reused materials!
We are not out of the woods yet.
Help us stay vigilant as our Community continues to combat this virus!
We will be requiring all visitors to do their best to maintain physical distancing (2 meters) from others at all times. We will have guides posted on the floor and around the gym to help you stay in check. In order to make sure everyone has space we will not be able to accommodate as many people. For the time being we will have smaller caps on all Classes and Open Practice times.
We can only check in a certain amount of people every hour for Open Practice. If you would like to reserve a spot you can do so Online. Once checked in for your 1 hour block you can stay longer as you wish. We will not be allowing people to leave and come back without registering for another 1 hour block. A Drop-In pass is only good for one visit.
Please do your part to wash your hands frequently. We will require all visitors to at least sanitize their hands when they arrive, and once more before they leave. Additional hand washing is encouraged. Wash those puppies for 20-30 seconds with soap and hot water.
We have acquired materials to literally hose down the gym at the end of each day to disinfect all surfaces (Hope you like the smell of thyme). Help us out by disinfecting any equipment you’ve put hands on. After your session grab one of our spray bottles. All you have to do is give the equipment a spray of mist with our disinfectant. No wiping required, just let it dry.
Did you know you could be asymptomatic to Covid-19? That means you could carry it and spread it without knowing. If you’d like to be extra careful to make sure you don’t infect someone you can wear a mask while practicing. Masks make breathing during physical activity difficult, so as you choose to don a mask like a true hero, just make sure you aren’t pushing yourself too hard.
All purchases can be made online or over the phone. E-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 604-558-1779 to make purchases contact free!
Things will indeed be different, but we look forward to providing a place to commune, learn, play, and thrive. Thank you for your continued patience and support. See you soon!
